Airstream Motorhomes
So, you want to live on wheels? Well the concept of living in a home on wheels is nothing new. If you were to actually sit and think about the early pioneers who explored North America, you would discover that they did it on wagons. Yes, wagons with wheels of course. Sure the wagons were pulled by horses, however they did provide shelter from rain, cold, sun and wild animals. In addition they provided reliable transportation and during long distance travels they provided living quarters for their passengers.
Today, a modern wagon still exists, its name has changed, it’s now called a motor home. This modern wagon, the Airstream motorhome, is not pulled by horses anymore instead it has a powerful engine pulling it. Let’s get one thing clear, not to confuse motor homes with mobile homes, the difference is that motor-homes are recreational vehicles sought after by those who want the adventure of traveling the open roads.
If you expect to spend a lot of time traveling, then the Airstream motorhome is your best choice. The reason for this is because they offer all the comforts of a standard home, only on a smaller scale. More and more Airstream motorhomes are being selected today because of their ability to provide amenities such as bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and much more. Motor-homes are enjoyable because they can carry your stuff everywhere you go. It’s like if you’re traveling where ever you may want to go, without actually having to unpack!
As times have changed, motor-homes have become more popular with families and not just retiree’s anymore. The reason for this is due to all the space they provide. An average size family can travel and bring along their pets and enjoy time together while at the same time having their own space, saving money on hotel rooms, and not having to worry about boarding their pets. In addition, if the family wants to go out and do something, their beloved pet can stay safe in the motor-home with heating or cooling. Besides, who wants to spend a night at a boring hotel room sharing a room watching the same television program, when you can have your own space and do as you please, or even enjoy a family game night.
In case you haven’t noticed by now, fellow Rv’ers are generally very friendly people, so it is always easy to start up a conversation and make new friends with the same interest. Things like this are not possible at hotel rooms. When have you ever knocked on your neighbor’s door at a hotel room and started up a conversation?
However, if you have set your mind on an Airstream motorhome, finding one may be a little difficult. The Airstream Company has not made any new models since the 1990s, and current owners love them so much that they seldom let them up for sale. If we keep our fingers crossed, it is quite possible that soon enough the company will design a new motorhome, but for now their only new models are trailer models.
Airstream Trailers
The beginning of the Airstream trailer goes back into the 1930s. During these times, a “how to” magazine had a young publisher, Wally Byam, who wanted to taker the readers mind off of the great depression times. With the response he was receiving to his “how to” guides, he decided to build his own in his backyard. Mr. Byam’s trailers became so popular that a company called Airstream was developed. To this day, it is still world known.
Airstream trailers are not just for anyone. They are mainly for people who seek exploration and adventure. They are easy to travel with and at the same time provide all the comforts from home. Choosing the best Airstream trailer for your needs could be a little challenging. When considering an Airstream trailer the following should be researched: Will you be using the trailer often or rarely? How many passengers will usually be traveling with you? What will be pulling the trailer? How much of a trailer can you actually pull? These questions may seem a bit confusing, but you will grateful you asked yourself them first before spending your money on something that wasn’t enough.
Even though Airstream trailers are smaller and lighter than other recreational vehicles, they should not be underestimated. They still have the ability to provide all the comforts people are looking for while out on the road. Choosing an Airstream trailer is a great choice, this is because you never have to unpack, and the whole family is always welcomed including “Fido”.
You will soon come to find that Airstream travel trailers are available in all: shapes, sizes, and colors. When choosing which size is best for you, the main thing you will need to consider is how many people will be traveling with you. Obviously, the bigger the Airstream the more room you will have available for family and / or guest.
The best thing about Airstream today is that they make plenty of room to store your other recreational toys. In fact, Airstream makes certain trailers dedicated to towing toys such as motorcycles, four-wheelers, ATVs, and other recreational gear. These great trailers are designed with rugged textured floors, plenty of tie downs and electrical outlets.
A great advantage of owning an Airstream trailer rather than an another recreational vehicle is the towing capability. When you are out on vacation and feel like exploring your surrounding you can simply unhook and take off without having to tug around your second home. This makes everything a whole lot better.
Just like purchasing a car or home, when your ready to purchase your Airstream trailer, you will find they come in many different levels; from the basics to top of the line high end design. You can get them from just a simple microwave all the way up to full kitchen and flat screen televisions all over your trailer. The best thing is that they are all ready to make you enjoy your life better and better with each travel.
